Mario Giacomelli (1925–2000) is widely regarded as one of the prominent Italian photographers of the twentieth century. Giacomelli lived and worked in Senigallia, Italy, a small and isolated town in the country’s Marche region. Giacomelli is known for the grainy film, geometric compositions, and raw expressiveness of his images. He was interested in the conditions of everyday life and in ordinary people as thinking, feeling individuals.
